An entertaining read. Like the first in the series, this second explores a female, later-in-life coming of age. The first book asks really compelling questions- who am I, how powerful am I, can I be more than my fear. The second continues to investigate these questions, but they have already fundamentally been answered in the first, and this time they are explored in a more social and chatty manner (as opposed to adventures that externalize deep internal conflicts). Given these factors, the second book is less gripping than the first.
