Journey to the Centre of the Earth (Bantam Classics)

Journey to the Center of the Earth - Jules Verne I liked the character of the reluctant narrator. A foundational epic adventurer that in tone had a lot in common with myth (though less organized by psychological experience) in which the journey ultimately leads us to meet an alternate version of ourselves. The encounter was dreamlike, unconfirmed, yet reminiscent of our deep desire to encounter and know a more fundamental aspect of ourselves.
